an invitation

Last week, I sent a link of my blog to Sabi Sushi for their pre-opening event wherein they were inviting bloggers to send in their blog sites to either in facebook or by email to experience before hand what their new branch will be offering.  This morning I got an email from Sabi telling me that I have chosen to be part of this 'blog @ sabi sushi forus' on November 10.  Looking forward to snapping some shots, tasting their amazing sushi and meeting other bloggers in the Stavanger region.  This is a good way for me to get some tips and exchange stories with the other participants.

Now, that is a good way of starting my November. :-) Will write about a follow up story after the event.

lite meals from an island cafe

Today, will write about EBUN cafe-bistro-galleri from Vikevåg in Rennesøy.  The cafe offers different types of food like burgers, steaks, seafood , pizza and as simple as an omelett.  All their produce comes from local farmers and producers in the area and the region.

Peppered hot smoked salmon filet from Mesterrokeren from Vassøy, delivers all their spiced hot smoked salmon.  It is smoked theold fashion way and with a spice mix that Mesterrokeren is well known for.  It is also available for sale in small vacuum packed portions of about 300 grams each.

Another favorite of mine, is the simple and light OMELETTE of the Day.  Variations can vary from mushroom & cheese, chicken, cheese & leeks or like the one above is BBQ pork meat & cheese.  Fillings can vary depending on what fresh produce they get.

first, apologize for the long absence from blogging. i am a newbie to this and was just trying it when i first started this blog.  am not much of a writer so pardon me if there will be times that i will be slacking from blogging.

just the other day, i decided to start again the process of honing my skills in cooking and learning more stuffs about food and what goes with it.  as part of this yearning to improve my skills, i have enrolled my myself with an online cooking school called 'rouxbe.com'.  This site is helpful for those wanting to improve their skills or just want to keep themselves updated with what is the latest in the food industry.  Check the video which is all what rouxbe is all about.
